The bipyridine(bpy) derivatives have been extensively used as metal chelating complexes or directly utilized as ligands due to their robust redox stability and ease of functionalization[1]. Over the past few decades, bipyridine derivatives have been widely used in the application of organic synthesis: ligands for C-H activation reactions[2] and coupling reactions[3], ligands for photocatalyst synthesis[4], ligands for oxidation reaction of primary alcohols to aldehydes (Cu(I)/bpy/TEMPO catalyst system)[5], etc.
