Reagent Appreciation Contest Winners
In June, we ran a contest for researchers who had created or contributed to the development of a new research reagent. Scientists were encouraged to submit their research reagents for a chance to win a $1,250 gift card. We were thrilled by the submissions and all the interesting research reagents developed. The winners were Dr. Elisa Bombarda from University of Bayreuth for contributing a dye called hydrodadcyl and Dr. Partho Sarothi Ray from the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Kilkata for contributing a recombinant plasma gelsolin. Keep an eye out next quarter for our upcoming contest!

Nature Publications Citing Kerafast Reagents
This quarter we saw some exciting new life science research citing Kerafast reagents. A research team from Yale Cancer Center published an article in Nature reporting the discovery of a new role for STING in head and neck cancer treatment. This study cites our mouse oral squamous cell carcinoma cell line. Another Nature publication from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and UPMC Hillman Cancer Center suggests how an already existing drug could be applied to promote the anti-cancer effects of immunotherapy treatment. This study cites our MC-38 cell line. If you¡¯ve cited one of our reagents in your research, we would love for you to share the publication with us!

Featured Lab
Lakshmi C. Wijeyewickrema, PhD, La Trobe University
Our newest featured lab group is the Wijeyewickrema lab from La Trobe University. Dr. Lakshmi C. Wijeyewickrema¡¯s laboratory researches enzymes, called proenzymes, which operate at the interface between a host, such as a human being, and microbes that cause disease. Their research focuses on understanding the biology of enzymes from bacteria and humans, so we can develop compounds to protect against disease. Currently we offer a C1S enzyme and proenzyme, as well as a Manna-Binding Lectin Serine Protease 1 and Protease 2 from Dr. Wijeyewickrema in our reagents catalog.

A Guide to Recombinant Antibody Engineering
Our sister company, Absolute Antibody, published a new white paper which is available to download here! This white paper provides an overview of recombinant antibody engineering, covering topics such as key antibody background, recent industry developments and the future of antibody engineering. If you have ever been interested in recombinant antibody engineering, this is a great place to start to learn more or see if it¡¯s a fit for your research needs. Don¡¯t hesitate to contact Absolute Antibody if you have any questions about their services or catalog.

Recombinant Antibodies Available via Kerafast
Kerafast is excited to offer a selection of our antibodies, now available as recombinant versions! In collaboration with our sister company, Absolute Antibody, we have been able to produce the recombinant versions of many of our popular antibodies. You can view all of the recombinant antibodies available here. Some of the popular options include VSV antibodies, virus antibodies, IgG antibodies, coronavirus antibodies, and more! We will continue to add new recombinant antibodies to our collection, so check back often for updates.
