Designing Nucleic Acids Extraction with High Efficiency
Magnetic particles pave the way for scalable and automatic nucleic acid extraction. Unlike other techniques, magnetic separation allows the isolation of nucleic acids from crude samples, including water, blood, and culture media. Nucleic acids from viscous samples can be easily extracted using magnetic particles. Furthermore, the magnetic technique can also significantly lower the chance of cross-contamination when the right products are used in processes.
CD Bioparticles has developed various magnetic particles and gold nanoparticles for SARS-CoV-2 tests:
¡ÜSilica-coated: They attract nucleic acids based on salt concentration and are used for molecular diagnostics such as qPCR.
¡ÜProtein A/G: They attract IgA and IgG proteins and are primarily used for antibody isolation.
¡ÜOligo(dt)-coated: They are used for mRNA extraction, RT-PCR, and RNA sequencing, among others.
¡ÜCarboxylate-modified: They are used for oligo and proteins purification and isolation.
