Designing Nucleic Acids Extraction with High Efficiency
Magnetic particles pave the way for scalable and automatic nucleic acid extraction. Unlike other techniques, magnetic separation allows the isolation of nucleic acids from crude samples, including water, blood, and culture media. Nucleic acids from viscous samples can be easily extracted using magnetic particles. Furthermore, the magnetic technique can also significantly lower the chance of cross-contamination when the right products are used in processes.
CD Bioparticles has developed various magnetic particles and gold nanoparticles for SARS-CoV-2 tests:
¡Ü
Silica-coated: They attract nucleic acids based on salt concentration and are used for molecular diagnostics such as qPCR.
¡Ü
Protein A/G: They attract IgA and IgG proteins and are primarily used for antibody isolation.
¡Ü
Oligo(dt)-coated: They are used for mRNA extraction, RT-PCR, and RNA sequencing, among others.
¡Ü
Carboxylate-modified: They are used for oligo and proteins purification and isolation.
The MagIso¢â DNA & RNA Magnetic Silica Particles have been developed for rapid and reliable nucleic acid isolation from plant tissues, whole blood, serum, plasma, buccal swabs, saliva, bacteria, plasmids, forensic samples and other body fluids.
Applications of Magnetic Nanoparticles in RNA and DNA Separation
Over the past few decades, magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) have been increasingly used to separate and discriminate biomolecules, which is also the basis for most current molecular diagnostic procedures.
CD Bioparticles provides various magnetic particles, nanoparticles, microparticles and their coatings for R&D and commercialization in a wide variety of applications, including in vitro diagnostics, biochemistry, cellular analysis, cell separation, and immunoassay.
