Fluorescence is a powerful tool for real-time mapping of biological events with high spatial resolution. In order to achieve high sensitivity, ultrabright probes, which are obtained by incorporating large numbers of fluorophores into a single nanoparticle, are usually required. Fluorescent polymer nanoparticles are guided for future bioimaging applications as they are characterized by high stability and non-toxicity.
